Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim:
English: Adaptation to Climate Change
Explanation: Efforts made to increase the ability to adapt to climate change, including climate variability and extreme events, to reduce potential damage, take advantage of opportunities, and cope with the consequences of climate change.
Example: Developing drought-resistant crop varieties to adapt to changing rainfall patterns. -
Aksi Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim:
English: Climate Change Adaptation Action
Explanation: Actions taken to adapt to actual or anticipated climate impacts, by building anticipation strategies and leveraging beneficial opportunities.
Example: Building sea walls to protect coastal communities from rising sea levels. -
Aksi Mitigasi Perubahan Iklim:
English: Climate Change Mitigation Action
Explanation: Activities that can reduce GHG emissions, increase carbon absorption, and/or enhance carbon storage/strengthening.
Example: Implementing a reforestation program to increase carbon sequestration.

Baseline Emisi GRK (Baseline Business as Usual Emisi GRK):
English: GHG Emissions Business-as-Usual Baseline
Explanation: Estimated levels and projections of GHG emissions in identified sectors or activities over a specified period without mitigation policy and/or technology interventions.
Example: Projecting that a country's annual CO2 emissions will reach 1 billion tons by 2030 if no mitigation actions are taken. -
Batas Atas Emisi GRK:
English: Upper Limit of GHG Emissions
Explanation: The highest level of GHG emissions set for a certain period.
Example: Setting a limit of 100,000 tons of CO2 equivalent per year for a large industrial facility. -
Bursa Karbon:
English: Carbon Exchange
Explanation: A system that regulates the recording of carbon reserves, Carbon Trading, and the ownership status of Carbon Units.
Example: A platform where companies can buy and sell carbon credits to offset their emissions.

English: GHG Emissions
Explanation: The release of GHGs into the atmosphere in a certain area within a certain time period.
Example: A coal-fired power plant releasing 2 million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually.

English: Carbon Rights
Explanation: The state's control over carbon.
Example: The government's authority to regulate and manage carbon resources within the country.

- Inventarisasi Emisi GRK:
English: GHG Emissions Inventory
Explanation: Activities to obtain data and information on the level, status, and trends of GHG emissions periodically from various emission sources and their absorbers.
Example: Annual national inventory of GHG emissions from all sectors including energy, agriculture, and industrial processes.

- Kapasitas Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim:
English: Climate Change Adaptive Capacity
Explanation: The potential or ability of a system to adapt to climate change, including climate variability and extremes, to reduce potential damage or take advantage of opportunities.
Example: A coastal city's ability to implement flood prevention measures and early warning systems.

NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution):
English: Nationally Determined Contribution
Explanation: The national commitment for global climate change management to achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Example: Indonesia's commitment to reduce GHG emissions by 29% (unconditional) to 41% (conditional) by 2030 compared to the business-as-usual scenario. -
NEK (Nilai Ekonomi Karbon):
English: Carbon Economic Value
Explanation: The value assigned to each unit of greenhouse gas emissions generated from human and economic activities.
Example: Assigning a value of $25 per ton of CO2 equivalent emitted.

Perdagangan Karbon:
English: Carbon Trading
Explanation: A market-based mechanism to reduce GHG emissions through buying and selling Carbon Units.
Example: A company with excess carbon credits selling them to another company that has exceeded its emission limits. -
PTBAE (Persetujuan Teknis Batas Atas Emisi):
English: Technical Approval for Upper Emission Limit
Explanation: Technical approval regarding the Upper Limit of GHG Emissions in a Sub-Sector or sub-Sub-Sector.
Example: The Ministry of Environment and Forestry approving an upper emission limit of 5 million tons CO2e for the cement industry sub-sector. -
PTBAE-PU (Persetujuan Teknis Batas Atas Emisi bagi Pelaku Usaha):
English: Technical Approval for Upper Emission Limit for Business Actors
Explanation: The determination of the Upper Limit of GHG Emissions for Business Actors and/or the determination of emission quotas in a certain Compliance Period for each Business Actor.
Example: A specific steel manufacturing plant receiving approval for an upper emission limit of 100,000 tons CO2e per year. -
Pungutan Atas Karbon:
English: Carbon Levy
Explanation: A state levy, both central and regional, imposed on goods and/or services that have potential and/or carbon content and/or businesses and/or activities that have the potential to emit carbon and/or emit carbon that can have a negative impact on the environment and/or the performance of Climate Change Mitigation Actions.
Example: A tax of $10 per ton of CO2 equivalent emitted by large industrial facilities.

SPE-GRK (Sertifikat Pengurangan Emisi GRK):
English: GHG Emission Reduction Certificate
Explanation: A letter form of proof of emission reduction by businesses and/or activities that have gone through Measurement, Reporting, and Verification, and are recorded in the National Registry System for Climate Change Control in the form of a registry number and/or code.
Example: A certificate issued to a company that has reduced its emissions by 10,000 tons CO2e through energy efficiency measures. -
SRN PPI (Sistem Registri Nasional Pengendalian Perubahan Iklim):
English: National Registry System for Climate Change Control
Explanation: A web-based data and information management and provision system about actions and resources for Climate Change Mitigation, Climate Change Adaptation, and Carbon Economic Value in Indonesia.
Example: An online platform where companies can register their emission reduction projects and track their carbon credits.

- Unit Karbon:
English: Carbon Unit
Explanation: Proof of carbon ownership in the form of a certificate or technical approval stated in 1 (one) ton of carbon dioxide recorded in the SRN PPI.
Example: A company holding 1000 carbon units, each representing one ton of CO2 equivalent that has been reduced or sequestered.
